Marcus
Scott is the founder and director
of the UCSB Middle East Ensemble
and
teaches in the Music Department at
UCSB. He studied Middle Eastern
music at UCLA and in Cairo, Egypt.
Susan
Rudnicki
Sue has lead the percussion
section since the founding of the
Ensemble
in 1989. She has studied Arabic
drumming with Souhail Kaspar,
Persian
drumming with Mehrdad Arabifard
and Siamak Pouian, the Armenian d'hol
with Sarkis Petrossian, and the
Uzbek doire with Tolkin
Isakov.
